The Swedish Scientific Drilling Program (SSDP) supports Swedish interests in continental and ocean scientific drilling with an emphasis on the Swedish memberships in the International Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP) and the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program/International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP, via the European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling, ECORD).

This web page provides

  • information about the relevant contact points who can provide information and support to researchers and
  • information about/links to on-going scientific drilling projects.

Sweden is a member of the
International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP) and
the European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling (ECORD), which joined the Intregrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP#1) in 2003.
In October 2013, ECORD joined the International Ocean Discovery Program - Exploring the Earth under the sea (IODP#2).
These memberships are funded by the Swedish Research Council.
